To enable teachers who are training students on CP curriculum, a 3-day long training of teachers (ToT) was organized from 10-12 October by ASTHA, co-facilitated by RADDA. The training’s objective was to encourage teachers to independently use the e-learning platform, create interactive contents using H5P, know role and access management of the platform and take classes from a blended learning approach.
A total of 7 CP training institutes participated- TCPI, RCPI, BCPI from the North Region, Shimantik from Sylhet, DWF and IPMT from Barishal, and Radda MCH-FP Centre joined from Dhaka and acted as a co-facilitator. 16 teachers including the principals from BCPI and Shimantik joined the training.
Dr. Rezwana Jahan, Dr. Pallabi Barua and Farzana Nasrin were the co-facilitators at the event. Taskeratul Islam- trainer from ADN Diginet, Rafi Jahin- trainer and facilitator from ASTHA, Khairul Islam and Saiful Islam- field officers from ASTHA, and Rezaul Karim and Trina Hasan were present as organizers from ASTHA.
In the ending ceremony on the 3rd day, Bangladesh Nursing and Midwifery Council (BNMC) Registrar- Ms. Rashida Akhter, Deputy registrar- Ms. Nilufar Easmin, CEO of ADN DigiNet Ltd- Mr. Sohael Reza, and Dr. Jafar Hakim- Senior advisor to ASTHA, gave separate speeches of goodwill on the occasion.
All the participants enjoyed the 3-day long sessions and have successfully created course outlines and content and learned 10+ types of interactive H5P content creation and delivered group presentations.
ASTHA received some positive feedbacks from the participating teachers- “When I joined the training, I did not have any prior knowledge about H5P is, now I have learned how the role and access management work in a learning management system, and I am also able to make contents and create a full course in Moodle based platforms. I am very excited to use all this knowledge in my institute.”
