Above and beyond the difficult overall situation, the country is facing the challenge of integrating young people into the professional world. It is rendered all the more challenging by lack of skills and professional experience, which in turn is attributable at least in part to an inadequate vocational education.

Agriculture accounts for 40% of the country’s Gross Domestic Product and remains the primary sector for employment. This is why, for several years, the development of the agricultural sector has been a central concern for public decision-makers and development partners such as Swisscontact in Niger.
