During the contest, all participants were presented with varying tasks to demonstrate their knowledge and skill in installing meters, sinks, faucets, siphons for drainage, and radiators, and their dexterity in using tools and handling mechanisms. The award ceremony was organized as part of the Install Fest Ukraine 2021 event. The winners and participants were awarded gifts and diplomas.
“The contest served several purposes. Students had a chance to demonstrate the skills they have acquired at the vocational education institutions to the public and to their prospective employers. Business representatives got acquainted with the quality of training by these institutions, and this further strengthens cooperation between them. Importantly, these young students are promoted as role models to other youth seeking guidance for their professional paths,” said Sonja Loosli, manager of the project that organized the event.
The contest was organized by the “Public-Private Partnership to Improve Plumbing in Ukraine – EdUP”, a project of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, in partnership with Geberit Trading LLC, implemented by Swisscontact and supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
