The project Shujola is funded by JT International SA. The project tested a new business model and facilitated designated public agencies to engage authorized private sector players (such as water technology companies) to extend the service delivery network through water entrepreneurship development. RMG workers and their communities gained the ability to meet their daily water consumption needs at a low cost from water kiosks dispensing safe water, run by water entrepreneurs. To date, the project has established 05 safe drinking water booths in the residential communities of RMG workers, where currently more than 5,000 RMG workers and their residential community members collect water on a daily basis and more than 10,000 people were made aware of the necessity of consuming safe drinking water.
