In the course of the visit Secretary-RDCD, interacted with the char elites, demo farmers, relevant private input company representatives and project teams to understand the project activities and impact more clearly. Representatives of Petrochem and A R Malik Seeds explained him the impact of using quality seeds in their respective demo spot. “Dwellers of chars are not only dealing with the char reality but also gaining the capacity to adapt with it. Char land has given new potential for agricultural prosperity” he said.
Director General-Rural Development Academy (RDA) and Additional Secretary, Khalil Ahmed and Country Director, Swisscontact Bangladesh, Mujibul Hasan accompanied him to see the progress of M4C project activities. “The aim of the project is to develop the char agricultural value chain through technological adaptation and market linkage so that the farmers get good production and fair price”- Khalil Ahmed said as his remark during the visit. “We try to work as a catalyst to address the market gaps based on farmers need.” said Mujibul Hasan. During the visit Project Director-M4C and Joint Director-RDA, Dr. Md. Abdul Majid Pramanik and Team Leader-M4C, Md. Abdul Awal briefed about relevant M4C project activities to the Secretary-RDCD. Also representative from local government, RDA, Swisscontact Bangladesh were present during the visit.
