Launching event of supporting development of the Light Engineering sector of Jashore 

Funded by Switzerland and Government of Bangladesh, co-implemented by Swisscontact and Local Government Division (LGD), the PRABRIDDHI project is working with the partner municipalities to foster local economic development.

A launching event was organized by PRABRIDDHI at the Sheikh Hasina Software Technology Park, Jashore on 2^nd December 2021. The purpose of the event was to sign Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) between PRABRIDDHI- Bangladesh Engineering Industry Owners’ Association (BEIOA) and PRABRIDDHI- Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST). More than 300 audiences witnessed the ceremony including mayor and council members of Jashore municipality, Light Engineering (LE) workshop entrepreneurs, Vice Chancellor, Dean and Chairman of Industrial and Production Engineering Department, professors of JUST. Representatives from Private Sector and development partners were also present at the event.

In collaboration with BEIOA and JUST, PRABRIDDHI will be providing technical support to the LE entrepreneurs and workshops for product development, innovation, digitising the sector through online directory and e-marketplace, developing market linkages and skills for entrepreneurship development. The project will also explore access to finance and compliance for business growth and market expansion.
