Collaboration to Improve Vocational Training of Plumbers in Ukraine

Collecting and analysing information about the needs and demands of employers from the private sector will help 25 vocational education institutions in Ukraine better prepare their students for their future of work.

The Steering Committee of the project ′′Public-Private Partnership to Improve Sanitary and Technical Education in Ukraine - EdUP′′ met to discuss about the next tasks and steps towards strengthening the partnership between vocational education institutions and the private sector. They identified the key tasks to be implemented in the next few months: supporting the development of an educational standard for the profession of “installer of sanitary systems and equipment”; creating materials for distance learning, sharing experiences between institutions; and enhancing communication between institutions and businesses, through visits and master classes.

The goal of these activities is to support vocational education institutions to be better able to independently attract resources from the private sector and provide practical workshops.

EdUP is a project of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, in partnership with Geberit Trading LLC, implemented by Swisscontact and supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
