Advocacy event organised at Khulna for advanced welding lab and training at Khulna Shipyard 

Uttoron pioneered internationally standardised advanced welding training in partnership with KSYTTC authority. This one-of-a-kind initiative is funded by Chevron through their corporate social responsibility activities. This state-of-the-art modern welding lab aims to provide easy access to advanced-level welding training for youths and develop them as skilled workforce.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Khulna, Md. Moniruzzaman Talukder presided the event as chief guest. In his speech, Mr. Talukder said, "Transforming our population into human resources is very important for us. Many graduates of the conventional education system are not getting job opportunities as per their aspirations, if they receive technical and vocational training after primary and secondary education, chances of getting suitable jobs increase manifolds. Taking less than two percent technically trained population rate to a 20% is a goal of the government. In building skilled manpower National Skills Development Authority (NSDA) is working relentlessly. We can reap the maximum benefit of the current demographic dividend that we are experiencing through such initiatives and create a productive workforce.” 

At the event, the participants share their opinion regarding skilled workforce and related challenges. Stakeholders also enquired about possible avenues to collaborate with Khulna Shipyard and opportunities to work together.
